Power Library

To access from school: click on the link on the Internet Explorer link bar. To access from home, go to Buckslib.org., click on POWERLibrary and enter library card number.

netLibrary - This database has thousands of complete books available online. To search for literary criticism, try doing a Title search using the author's name in the search field.
Contemporary Authors - This database has extensive information on authors' biography, writings, reviews and further readings.
Biography Reference Bank - Provides very thorough biographies, as well as articles and books pertaining to the person including criticism. Some provide the full text of the articles, while the others give information on what databases can be used to obtain the article.
Dartclix - Thousands of professionally selected and cataloged, high-quality websites. Try adding the author's name to the search field and you may get some worthwhile links to criticism and reviews.

Google Scholar - a straightforward search for scholarly articles
The Internet Public Library: Literary Criticism - critical and biographical websites about authors and their works that can be browsed by author, by title, or by nationality and literary period.
LitLinks - Click on a genre and then an author to get an annotated list of links on an author and their work.
Literary History - "a selective index to free scholarly and critical articles on the internet, covering the major English and American authors in 19th and 20th century." Be sure to evaluate the sites before using them!
